Versa il vino! Eccellente Marzemino' cries the Don in Mozart's Don Giovanni, but sadly few others call out for Marzemino now. Grown almost exclusively in northern Italy, around Lake Garda and Isera, south of Trentino, the post phylloxera version is light and cherryish, producing excellent rose wines with fresh, youthful perfumes and lively acidity.
