David Gleave MW looks back on Liberty Wines' past 15 years

We have been looking back on the past 15 years, as well as looking forward to the next. David Gleave writes below:

"I started my education in the wine trade while living in Dublin in the early 1980’s. Having then moved to London and set up Liberty Wines in 1997, it was always my intention that we should establish Liberty Wines in Ireland. So, it was that we started in 2002 with one member of staff and a handful of customers in and around Dublin.

"15 years later we have a team of 5 selling to customers in every part of the country: from Kinsale and Killarney in the south to Letterkenny in the north west; from Ardmore in the south east to Achill in the west, and even as far out as Inis Meáin - next stop Boston!

"When we started in Ireland 15 years ago our key commitments were to providing our customers with excellent service and excellent quality. While much has changed these commitments remain central to what we do. At the same time, we also think that we have thrived through being able to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of our customers, while remaining true to our founding principles of representing the best producers in the world’s most exciting wine regions.

"All of this would mean nothing without the continued support of our customers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for that support and to hope that our service and the quality of both our wines and our team will form the basis of the strong platform from which we launch our journey into our next 15 years."
