12 Trophies at IWC 2016

We are delighted to announce that eight wines from our portfolio have scooped 12 Regional, National and International Varietal Trophies between them at this year’s International Wine Challenge.

This year's eight trophy-winning wines (listed with judges' tasting notes below) are testament to the remarkable consistency in top quality achieved by their producers. The Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires 1995 sits on the Champion of Champions 2016 shortlist, having won the IWC Champion Sparkling Trophy in 2015. In fact, our Charles Heidsieck range has scooped an incredible 12 IWC trophies over the last five years.

The Jean-Claude Boisset Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is another consistently high performer, adding four trophies so far this year (including French Red and International Pinot Noir) to its IWC Champion Red Trophy in 2014.

Pieropan's single vineyard 'La Rocca' has been awarded a trophy in each of the last five years' IWC competitions, receiving the Italian White Trophy in 2012, 2013 and 2014, then matching its 2015 Soave Trophy again this year.

Last year, Tasmanian newcomer Tolpuddle Vineyard won three IWC trophies (including Australian Red) and was shortlisted for the 2015 Red Wine Trophy with only the second release of their Pinot Noir. This year it is the turn of their white wine, which has scooped the Tasmanian Chardonnay Trophy.
